Forensic Speaker identification
What is Speaker Verification?
Speaker verification and identification refers to the automated method of identifying or confirming the identity of an individual based on his/her voice and identifying the individual as one belonging to a group. Human voice is considered both a physiological and a behavioral biometric factor:
-
The physiological component of speaker recognition is the physical shape of the subject's voice tract which is reflected in the formants.
-
The behavioral component is the physical movement of jaws, tongue and larynx which is reflected in variations in the extracted parameters
Salient features of the system:

-
ASL5000 contains a speech lab suitable for all types of analysis of audio including time and frequency parameters and plots.
-
It has the important utility of automatic speaker verification based on formants analysis. It works on word level and tries to find a match between the control and suspect word pairs. No tuning is necessary for any language and accent and for use in any country. The system can match some 50- word pairs in just 10 minutes and can generate a detailed report of matching pairs with formant values in another 5 minutes.
-
It can be used for manual speaker verification with a show matching pair facility for automatic matching points detection.
-
It performs seamlessly with great accuracy. It contains Industry-leading matching algorithms for verification and identification.
-
There is a facility for word segregation to reduce manual tasks.
-
The ASL5000 includes applications such as speaker diarization for 2 speakers and noise cancellation. The user can diarize the suspect file and directly give it for word segregation. The facility to measure signal-to-noise ratio, harmonics to noise ratio, Cepstral and spectrum analysis is included.
-
For speaker diarization for more than 3 speakers, a facility for manual diarization is provided as a handy tool for the user. Ability to record the suspected culprit’s voice with good quality mic and sound card.
-
It provides a facility to insert IPA symbols on the waveform.
-
It provides facility of low pass, high pass, band pass and band reject filters.
-
Ability to run on the device as a complete offline solution.
